'TUMBLING DOWN' : A JOURNEY INTO RACE KNOWER'S
LONG-LOST MUSICAL REALM.
In 2019, my friend and fellow record collector Axel discovered an obscure record titled Tumbling Down on eBay. Drawn to its genuine songwriting and untold story, I joined him to learn more about the artist, Race Knower.

Upon learning of his passing, both Gerry and Georgia expressed strong support for our efforts to revive Race's legacy. Together, we worked closely to bring his music back to life.

As the project unfolded, we took on the responsibility of coordinating with a London-based studio engineer to remaster the songs, bringing them up to today’s standards for streaming platforms.

Much like the story of Sixto Rodriguez, Race's music had been largely overlooked despite its undeniable talent. After initially reaching out to him, we were met with a long period of silence. It wasn’t until we got in touch with his wife, Gerry, and daughter, Georgia, that we learned that Race had passed away.

We located the last remaining vinyl copies of the Tumbling Down LP and made a concerted effort to distribute them to collectors, DJs, and record shops worldwide, ensuring that Race's music finally reached keen ears.

We also initiated a partnership with Tacet Music in
Los Angeles to represent Race’s work in the realms of film, television, and advertising, ensuring his music reached new audiences.
Thanks to these efforts, Race’s music has been rediscovered and is now played by DJs, cherished by collectors, and streamed by listeners worldwide. Like Rodriguez, who was rediscovered years after his music initially went unnoticed, Race's work is now finding the audience it always deserved.
POCKET OF LIGHT CÔTE D'AZUR
MUSIC FESTIVAL
Pocket of Light started as a series of intimate parties created by Mario Gharios in Beirut. These events were unique in their focus on music, emphasizing the DJs' deep knowledge and skill. They featured a diverse selection of tracks from the "golden age" of dance music—a period when live musicians and electronic machines reshaped the genre. After hosting successful parties in Beirut, Paris, London, and New York, the idea of turning Pocket of Light into a festival was born, keeping the same priorities: exceptional music, high-quality sound, and a stunning location.

The festival provides a refreshing alternative to traditional events in the south of France. With a capacity of just 150 guests, it prioritizes an intimate setting, exceptional sound quality, and unique programming split into two formats: pool parties and club nights. Rooted in the balearic sound, the festival’s programming balances classic influences with forward-thinking tracks, creating a vibe perfectly suited to the Côte d'Azur, showcasing artists across generations and styles

We’ve paid close attention to every detail of the sound experience, from the precision of the soundsystem to the acoustics of the space, ensuring the music is felt as much as it is heard. At the same time, we’ve kept the capacity limited to preserve a sense of intimacy and connection, creating a true gathering where festival-goers can feel part of something special rather than lost in a crowd.

The festival is brought to life by:
-
Mario Gharios: Co-founder of the festival, DJ and electronic music producer.
-
Norman Gervais: Pocket of Light partner and co-creator of the festival, DJ and music producer. His shared vision with Mario led to their collaboration on the festival.
-
Sean Scutcher: The third founder of the festival, DJ, music producer and former manager of the venue where the festival took place.
-
Audrey Dubussy: A skilled graphic designer responsible for the festival's vibrant visual identity.

Pocket of Light is hosted at Les Prairies de la Mer, Europe’s largest seaside resort, located in Port Grimaud, also known as “The Venice of the Côte d'Azur.” Just 10 minutes from Saint-Tropez, this picturesque location offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and luxurious amenities for an unforgettable festival.
